Fifty-word review
Rich dance-pop with awkward choruses and dull melodies blanket the fiery tribal drums and conflict with Lykke’s tender, distressed voice. Songs like “Rich Kid Blues” and “Sadness is a Blessing” are plunging shards of glass. Fortunately the vulnerable, stripped-down track “I Know Places” soothes the wounds they inflict.
