Fifty-word reviews
A welcome return to roots, as college’s favorite turntablist launches his own label and abandons his attempts to become a dreaded songwriter. No singing here – RJD2 makes his presence felt subtly, as it should be. Tin Foil Hat isn’t revolutionary; it’s the RJD2 you know and love, with rounder edges.
Rightly so, a bit of gangster rap is placed amongst the playground sounds and disco grooves of The Colossus, and it equals quintessential RJD2. Nary a beat goes untouched on this mixtastic release by the lovely DJ, and he’s managed to weave them all together perfectly. Like he always does.
