Ten songs brimming with disappointment but thick with grit, McArdle's chin set, eyes mere slits, staring at you. McArdle's smokey alto allows just enough breath to haunt—and smite—her demons. "Poison My Cup" and "Paint the Walls" perfectly admit the masochism of walking away; ". . . Whore" satisfies the sadism.
