Fifty-word review

Dye It Blonde

4.4 out of 10

Anodyne and unmemorable. Bland indie chug unredeemed by drawling yet anonymous vocals or schmeared guitars. “Competent,” is the least-damning verdict merited, or “sophomore album.” The Westerns aim for a blithe, child-like appeal on breezy songs like “Weekend;” the generous would call it “artless” but the uncharitable would deem it infantile.

Reminds us of Pavement, if their pampered, precocious 15 year old sons formed a band | Avi Buffalo | The Apples In Stereo
