What else we were talking about that week

According to their website, Free Sol (pronounced "soul") refers to a state of mind whose "main objective of never conforming to the usual way of doing things." That's an ambitious goal, and one that Free Sol at least par. Comprised of an MC (Free Sol), keyboardist (Premo D’anger), drummer (Kickman Teddy) and guitarist (Elliott aka E Ives), the group produced an intriguing rap/rock/soul blend that charged the sparse crowd at the Austin Music Hall. Over deep rumbling bass lines and rock drums, Free Sol displayed a solid, but unremarkable flow. Prior to "Make a Movie," Sol mused that Kim Kardashian was only famous because of a sex tape, and that he too could have made her famous. I'm sure he's not alone in these beliefs, but it made for an amusing moment in their set.
