Oh Portland, why must you be on the other side of the country from me? Particularly when you insist on continuing to produce wonderful, wonderful rock & roll.
The Thermals had a significant amount of hype coming into the Terrorbird/Force Field PR party, and they lived up to every little bit of it. Producing great rockin' from a fairly simple three-piece, they approach microphones and instruments with gritty determination and great expectation. Cool and collected, the Thermals have multiple opportunities this week to show what they're made of. They'll almost certainly succeed at demonstrating just how much of what they're made of is goodness. Real, strong, driving goodness.
The Thermals were a pleasure to see and hear. And I'll look forward to doing so again. And again. &c.
