The quirky sincerity and pathos of James Mercer’s (The Shins) vocals snuggle up nicely against Brian Burton’s (Danger Mouse) smiling melodies and snappy beats. For a side project turned real-live band the duo has produced an adorable debut album; holding hands but, thankfully, too shy to (over) do it.
