Coming across like a clumsy orgy of synthesizers, Love Comes Close alternates between poppy charm and brooding melodrama. Boasting a slew of decent tracks, the album nevertheless fails to equal the sum of its parts. Awkward transitions and a general lack of cohesiveness make for a jarring, unsettling listening experience.
