With songs about running after someone through the airport and growing blissfully old together, John Craig’s Ümlaut plays out like a chick flick. Craig’s earnest, saccharine songs aren’t even catchy enough to be guilty pleasures. Soulful fourth track “Promises” almost had me until I remembered that whistling is so 2007.
