Ward offers a further refining of his well-honed method—effortless, echoing vocals moving through an amalgamation of country, folk, old-timey, and 70s MOR. It seems fitting that he crib from Dylan’s "Down in the Flood" for “Jailbird”: this is his New Morning, to be played when the sun’s out.
