Likely to appear on 2/3rds of the best of lists, XX shows the placement is half skill and half hype. Taking a card from the Blow with girl/boy vocals and simplistic beats, the XX lacks the lyrics to keep a listener remembering to come back. Dark and soft—but not enough.
