Thee Oh Sees

Not to be confused with the popular video game franchise "Castlevania," Castlemania is the accidental collection of songs making up Thee Oh Sees latest album. Due June 14, Castlemania will be a "scuffed-up, home-brewed symphony," with songs like "Spider Cider," "Corrupted Coffin" and "If I Stay Too Long." Here's what frontman John Dwyer has to say about his band's latest creation, per a press release:

“I guess there is a theme going on in this record,” admits Dwyer. “It’s shit I didn’t realize while making it—songs about bad things, packaged in a summery record about getting numb to life and its little pleasures as you take it for granted with age.”

And you can witness some of those little pleasures during their small North American tour . . . that's only in California. Then they'll be off to Europe for a couple months!

Thee Oh Sees 2011 Tour Dates:
04/22 - Gilman Street - Berkeley, CA *
04/28 - Café Du Nord - San Francisco, CA
* w/ OFF! and Ty Segall

Holler at "Meat Step Lively" in its rad music video from 2010, but be careful, there are some strobing and flashing lights that may provoke migraines or seizures:
