The War On Drugs lacks the tinge of violence the word 'war' elicits. Rather, this ambient and fuzzed-out americana could even convince diehard new wave kids to consider country. Playing up and down the eastern seaboard, The War on Drugs has put forth a mini-LP, Future Weather, due October 26 with two singles already on the loose.
Methodically melodic yet full of background solos from multiple guitar players, "Comin' Through" showcases the twang and slurring storytelling of their vocals while mixing up the echo with the clear-cut riffs. You can hear the second single, "The History of Plastic," at MBV, that is if you like what you've heard here.
Here's the tracklisting for Future Weather and upcoming shows played in its celebration:
1. come to the city #14
2. baby missiles
3. comin' through
4. a pile of tires
5. comin' around
6. brothers
