Beastie Boys are on a roll this year! After MCA put his cancer in remission and the group got a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination, they are back on track and ready to release their first album in three years. Granted they're starting a little backwards by releasing a sequel before the prequel, but it gets more confusing than that! The sequel kind of is the prequel, because the Beastie Boys have changed up the tracklisting of Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 to the tracklisting of Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. Still don't get it? Let MCA explain:
"We just kept working and working on various sequences for part 2, and after a year and half of spending days on end in the sequencing room trying out every possible combination, it finally became clear that this was the only way to make it work. Strange but true, the final sequence for Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 works best with all its songs replaced by the 16 tracks we originally had lined up in pretty much the same order we had them in for Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. So we've come full circle."
Early this morning they posted to their website a less eloquent but loving message:
"listen…
we got all types of new and improved shit going down,
geared to flip your wig and split your dome piece.
shit iz rreeaaallll !
you’re welcome.
lotz of lovez,
adam,adam,and mike"
Fitting that it's a vague message since they've been holding out on an exact release and tour dates for Part 2. All we got so far is that it's coming out in 2011 from Capitol. $20 says it comes out before March. Why gamble that? Because we already have the tracklisting, duh.
