Depressed Buttons

When I first got a car, I wasn't allowed to listen to music. My parents thought it would be too distracting given my need to belt out every word and make up dance moves to every beat. However, I was 16 and didn't listen to their advice very well. So I would sneak The Faint's Blankwave Arcade and Wet From Birth into the car and dance my way down the road. Ever since then, I equate anything The Faint does with joyous rebellion and a sense of triumph.

Depressed Buttons, the band formed from The Faint's Todd Fink, Clark Baechle and Jacob Thiele, makes me feel no differently. In fact, I feel as though their tastes have grown with my own to include a more electronica/house feel. The quirky baby sounds in "Ow!" appeal to the fun-loving nature of dance music, and I look forward to the release of their Qwerty EP on December 7.

Hear "Ow!" above and grab it for keeps below, then keep an eye out at Mad Decent for the EP release.
