BOBBY

BOBBY's music thrives on subtlety. Born from a senior project at Bennington College, the septet of Tom Greenburg, Molly Erin Sarle, Amelia Randall Meath, Julian Labat, Roby Moulton, Martin Zimmerman and Paolo Menuez blend traditional methods with experimental noises to lead you into a cacophony of gentle rhythms. At times each instrument – guitar, bass, drum, synthesizer, vocals, strange quips – gains vivid clarity, but usually for only the brief amount of time they need to convey a certain thought out of the swirl of tones. Their debut due June 21, BOBBY, is available in its hour-long glory at NPR right now, so if you want to get lost for awhile in your own mind, I suggest you head over and see what sort of heavy feeling their music will implant in your chest.
