The Bonnaroo schedule has been announced. Aside from the obvious headlining slots taken by Phish, the Beastie Boys, and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, there are a few interesting curve balls. The recently reunited Phish will also play an 11 PM to 2 AM slot on the main stage Friday night after the Beasties. Last year, during the festival's first attempt at a late-night main stage show, Kanye West infamously pissed off 80,000 fans. I'm sure, however, Phish won't have the same problem. Another great after hours lineup is Saturday night: after the Boss plays, Yeasayer shares a tent with MGMT from 1 to 3:45 (bring your glow sticks).
The best place to be may be the Which Stage on Friday: Animal Collective is followed by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio and then David Byrne, who ends right before the late Phish slot. The only major conflict is Grizzly Bear and Santigold playing at the same time as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Oh, the difficult choices! As usual, Bonnaroo is stacked with talent, but are you going to brave the long drive, Tennessee heat, and sweaty masses? One thing's for sure, the loads of Phish fans will be a massive improvement over the metal heads that came in droves for Metallica last year.
