Finally! A tribute album with none of the usual suspects! The Land of Ice and Snow: The Songs of Led Zeppelin debuts October 12, with sneak peeks into two tracks off the two-disc compilation today. Above you can check out Laura Veirs and Mount Analog's rendition of "The Ocean," which still incapsulates the rock and roll feel the original pulsates while also contributing a female vocalist's interpretation of Robert Plant. Whereas Chris Walla's cover of "In the Evening" seems to roll along lazily for almost ten minutes, lulling on the same melody, similar to Death Cab for Cutie's 12-minute song "Stability" from 2001.
Stream Chris Walla's cover of "In the Evening" at Spin, and pre-order The Land of Ice and Snow at Jealous Butcher Records with the potential of T-shirts and posters to boot.
