/end UPDATE.
Skate videos have come a long way since the 90s. From rebellious tirades to thoughtful portraits, from punk rock to indie pop, the shift from the defiantly badass to the artistically evocative in skate videos has given Panda Bear enough room to write a song explicitly for Atiba Jefferson and Ty Evans as they test out a DSLR for Panasonic. Named for one of the directors, "Atiba Song" has the trademark dreamy, smooth, cavernous feel of Panda Bear with less dissonance. It works, of course, beautifully with the tone of the video, which you can watch below. Be warned, the last four minutes are just credits.
But before you zone out to some gorgeous skateboard scenery, note that "Atiba Song" can be heard above and snagged below, just in case you wanted a version without the scuffling of boards. Tomboy comes out April 12 and will be a compilation of fleshed-out previously released tracks and some new ones. Okay, now go watch the video.
