April 17 is a special day. What's happening you say? Why it's Record Store Day of course! Started in 2008, this fantastic little day functions as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding independant record stores. There will be a lot of cool things happening all over the country at various record shops, but one thing that will be happening everywhere is a reissue from Deerhooof of their timelessly quirky albums Apple O' and Green Cosmos.
Apple O's will be reissued on a special blue vinyl with expanded artwork and four previously unreleased tracks included as a download. This is the first time in years that this album has been available on vinyl. Green Cosmos, on the other hand, has never been released on vinyl and will be available in a beautiful milky green color. It too will have four bonus tracks available for download and carefully crafted packaging.
Following an international tour that starts this week, Deerhoof will be stopping through the west coast to play these July dates with the Donkeys and Southeast Engine:
July 5 - Seattle, WA - The Vera Project
July 6 - Portland, OR - Berbatti's
July 8 - San Francisco, CA - Bottom of the Hill
