When my little sister was five, we used to blare lots of music with story-telling or nonsensical lyrics: the Decemberists, Devendra Banhart and most importantly Deerhoof. She knew all the words to "Kidz Are So Small" and we made up dances to "+81." Now that she's almost 10, I'll be exposing her to the rougher and heavier "The Merry Barracks" that Deerhoof has been sharing with anyone who has an email.
Luckily, you don't need an email to listen to the track off of Deerhoof vs. Evil, which you can pre-order at Polyvinyl then wait for January 25 to come around when it comes in the mail.
You can listen to it now! Go forth and jam, my lovelies.
