I think we've all had time to devour "H.A.M." and now it's time to take a peak at the menu for Jay-Z and Kanye West's impending collaborative release, Watch the Throne. Jay-Z brought a small number of the press to the Mercer Hotel last night to share 12 tracks and some details of the duo's album that had been kept under wraps for the past six months.
First off, a few guest appearances were revealed, such as with Odd Future's Frank Ocean and Hova's lovely wife Beyonce. She brings the fire in a track called "Lift Off," which according to MTV News "sounds like it was tailor-made to be performed in large stadiums." Ocean is also appearing on Jay-Z's solo work after impressing him with his Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape.
Aside from friends included, another interesting tidbit has to do with subject matter. For example, one track has West and Jay-Z addressing their "hypothetical" unborn sons. Also expect samples of Otis Redding and "Ave Maria," with the latter featured in a track called "Living So Italian." Though they still have to pin down a track list, we've learned that other song names include "I Can't Stop" and "No Church."
