A suggestion regarding Local Natives' Gorilla Manor. Listen now before everyone else tells you to and you can stride confidently into any music conversation with the knowledge that you were among the first to proclaim how great this record is. Unless you caught one of the downloads last year from a UK rip of this disc (they released it there first). Then you can claim super hipster status. But, really though, how you come to the table doesn't matter as long as you come to the table on this one. A) because it's a great record and B) you should know what a lot of people are going to catch on to, so you can have your own take on it before the group think starts.
NPR is streaming it here. Give it a listen and...well...cheers.
