Though we are still in the midst of winter, it's never too early to start wishing for spring. Especially since more details have been announced on two festivals for 2011: Wilco's Solid Sound and SXSW.
Hosted at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, Solid Sound returns for the warm summer days to feature Wilco and friends. Not much as been said yet on who will be playing this festival, but Wilco is working on a new album and the festival's website has promised an official announcement and ticket information on January 18. 6,000 people attended last year, so who's betting that number will skyrocket in 2011?
Until then, block out your calendar for June 24-26, and Google map North Adams, Massachusetts. I, uh, had no idea where it was.
Anyway! Rounds one and two have already been announced by the organizing peeps at SXSW, and now they are rolling in even more names for round three. Highlights include James Blake, Das Racist, Egyptrixx, The Joy Formidable, Menomena, Mustard Pimp, and Violens. A comprehensive list of announced bands can be found at the SXSW website, where you will need a drool cup hanging under your mouth or an adrenaline shot positioned over your heart. Yeah, it's THAT GOOD.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for March 16-20 for SXSW 2011! You guys start that show savings account like I recommended yet?
