Bored and apathetic, "I Really Didn't Need You Anyway" is the kid slouched against the lockers. He's crumpling and smoothing out a college-ruled notebook sheet where he asked the hottest girl in school to prom, and she circled a million times the word "NO." Oh well, he shrugs. I really didn't need you anyway.
Conversely, we all need to hear the beginnings of Alan Palomo's, a.k.a. Neon Indian, new lo-fi track whose fuzzy vocals and liquid accoutrements were captured by Sirius XMU during an episode of their Live Sessions. Palomo plans to rework the song before it gets sealed into history on the record, but at least we get to hear the direction he's heading in right now.
