If you're up on your Odd Future news, you know that several artists and organizations have been responding to the lyrical content of Tyler, The Creator's latest album, Goblin, including GLAAD, Kathleen Hanna of Le Tigre and Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara. The Jane Doze have been up on the news too, and in response they mashed together Tyler's "Yonkers" with Tegan and Sara's "Call If Off."
The ending is a little awkward, but the two tracks actually complement one another when layered together. Where "Yonkers" lacks a melody and harmony, "Call It Off" brings those elements, and where "Call It Off" lacks an edge, "Yonkers" delivers. Overall, it's a little strange to hear at first, controversy aside, but after some attention it definitely grows on you. A soundcloud of the track plus a music video are available below!
