La Roux's "Bulletproof" is one of the best songs of the year, hands down. It's the kind of record that our pop princesses wish they could make and the Swedes look at like, "welcome to the club, we've made jackets." It hooks you with its bouncy, 8 bit bump and pulls you in even farther with its sing-songy melody, which I doubt will leave your head anytime soon. The remix on the other hand takes a different route. The bounce is replaced by waves and suddenly it's more Dr. Dre than Nintendo. Now, the vocals fall over strong synths and throbbing sound waves like La Roux is charging up her battery pack to kick ass instead dance away her troubles. Check it out and if you want to compare the original to the remix, I've included that below, as well.
