The Daylight vs Z Berg from michaelrunion on Vimeo.
I've been a fan of Michael Runion since I saw him open for Jenny Lewis and Benji Hughes last fall. It only takes a song or two to get hooked: His offbeat lyrical delivery and cadence, a quietly strummed guitar, and stories of impossible love. On Runion's limited tour EP—produced by members of Phantom Planet and Rilo Kiley—he changes direction a bit with the rollicking and heavy guitars of "Maxine." It's a bit louder than "Daylight," the last track on the album performed above. You can stream the rest of the songs on the EP at Runion's Myspace.
