Robert Glasper's show at the Blue Note jazz club got a couple stragglers wandering on stage for a freestyle. To the left you got the egomaniacal Kanye West, who spent his half of the song spitting lines from his latest album and talking about racism, which certainly got a rise out of the very audible audience. To the right you have the mellow Mos Def, who threw some quips full of love and catchy hooks that are part of his usual style.
The two blended together over slick piano and bass made for an interesting and engaging combo, which you can hear via the soundcloud above. Be warned though, it is Kanye, so expect some ranting . . . about the 2009 VMAs . . .
