The Hood Internet

So it begins. Back for its eleventh year is the Pacific Northwest version of Austin's SXSW: MusicFestNW. This year they're roping in local, old school and buzz bands from all over in the hopes that you will get down and party from September 7-11 at the Pioneer Courthouse Square. Yesterday they released the first in a series of lineup announcements, which should peak your interest with the inclusion of musical acts such as Explosions in the Sky, Iron & Wine, Phantogram and Butthole Surfers.

The list is detailed below, with a few other notable acts bolded for better visibility. 'Course, this is one girl's opinion on what is awesome, so make your own conclusions while you save up for passes. Daily wristbands are $70 this year, and a weekend wristband is $115.

And while you search through band and artist names for juicy musical morsels, listen to MFNW attendant The Hood Internet's latest remix, "Slow John." This track takes some of the flavor from both Lil Wayne's "John" and Com Truise's "Slow Peels." Stream it above and snag it below!
