Must listen: the Local Natives

The Local Natives—who hail from Silverlake, California—are an unsigned vocal-driven and harmony-filled quintet with a seemingly boundless source of creativity. Along with its use of several social media outlets, the group designs all of its own artwork, most of which is quite impressive (two band members are graphic designers by day). The Local Natives recently played a handful of shows at SXSW and expects to release its debut album Gorilla Manor sometime next fall. The video for the song "Airplanes," which will appear on Gorilla Manor, was filmed on a vacant 7th floor in New York City.
