On this new freestyle, "Cudderisback" Kid Cudi rides a light, echoey guitar line that sounds like raindrops falling on your roof. But, what is that? Is that Ezra Koenig? Did he sample Vampire Weekend's "Ottoman"? Hell yeah, he did. Cudi just said today that his next album is going to be a lot more "fun" than his last one and if this freestyle is any indication of his future output, he's heading in the right direction.
P.S. I love that all the new rap guys seem to listen to indie. Simple math though: diverse inputs + creativity = innovative outputs.
