This boy is so fierce I can hardly stand it. Champion of sadomasicistic-esque outfits and fantastically voluptuous chemically colorful hair, Patrick Wolf brings the pomp and fantastical out in his music and dons it like a daring shadow.
Of course, this is the Patrick Wolf of yesteryear and The Bachelor. Now we have news that he will be releasing another album in the spring of 2011, preceded by a single due December 6. It's called "Time of My Life," and it will be accompanied by a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Anthem" as a B-side on a limited 7" vinyl.
Mr. Wolf spoke a bit on his forthcoming release, saying "‘Time Of My Life’ is a song that I began writing at the end of a relationship in 2006 and then finished three years later during a temporary break up in my current relationship. The new album has a direct narrative about love and optimism surviving through adversity and recession. I wanted to celebrate the love and hope I have found in the last few years.”
Exciting!
For now, you can hear his latest cover of Kate Bush's militant "Army Dreamers" above, and grab it for keeps below.
