Think bursting trumpets, playful guitar and African folk singing and you got the basis for The Sway Machinery. Started as a side project of Balkan Beat Box's Jeremiah Lockwood, this energetic and joyful band are hitting the road. As part of their wayward big city tour, The Sway Machinery are bringing Mali-native singer Khaira Arby along for a show at Portland's Aladdin Theater on March 12. Though you might not understand Arby's rich vocals, you'll be happily bopping along as you listen to jams such as "Gawad Teriamou," which you can listen to and watch via YouTube below.
