Let's face it, pretty much any Spoon album could arguably make a 'best of the decade' list. They are so good that even the people that run from bands they love when someone else starts to listen wouldn't kick them to the curb. It's just something about how they blend pop, r&b, rock and awesome into a cool soup that we all like to eat again and again. And the album I chose as the cream of the crop (though it doesn't hold that honor by much) is Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. I love it and I don't care what the Kill the Moonlight junkies say. Full sound over stripped! In all I honesty, I could have put any of their albums in there and felt completely ok about it, this one just seemed right.
So today's first present is a show from the Ga (x5) tour, live at the Fillmore West on 9.22.08. The info I have on it says the sound is near soundboard, so that probably means it's a great audience recording, though when I gave it a spin I couldn't hear a flaw. That means it sounds great. And the best part of the show is, they draw from their entire repertoire, so if you truly are a Kill the Moonlight fiend or a Girls Can Tell devotee, you'll get yours here too. Enjoy.
