Pretty Lights

Derek Vincent Smith (Pretty Lights) wanted to make something special for New Years Eve. It was his first time headlining a NYE show and he wanted to go into 2010 with a bang. He did this by creating two midnight mixes. The first was based on "The Final Countdown;" the Europe song that has achieved new levels of fame thanks to Arrested Development. This would take his audience out of the double 00's and into the new decade. The second was made for when they got there and this is the one I want to share with you (though if you click HERE you can get the first one as well).

A hybrid of JJ Cale's "After Midnight," and the Allman Brothers "Midnight Rider," this mix would have be a stellar way to welcome the New Year for the simple fact that it is a whole lot of fun and carries with it a whole lot of attitude. And the best part is, even though it was created for the first moments of January 1st, it remains great for every moment after that as well. Highly recommended.
