Record Store Day

You have less than a month to prepare yourself and your wallet for Record Store Day 2011, but I have a solid way you can gain the upper hand on April 16. Thanks to Record Store Day.com, you can print out and stash this handy-dandy list detailing many of the releases busting out on shelves. Still out of those hundreds of releases, there are some highlights not on the list that you may want to save yourself for:

Though The White Stripes will no longer be making new music, they are putting out special black-and-red swirled limited pressing vinyls for the day of record stores. This fancy 7" will be a reissue of their first singles, including "Let's Shake Hands," "Lafayette Blues" and "Sugar Never Tasted So Good." Jack White will also be on another Record Store Day release: the 7" single release of Rome's "Two Against One" and "Black," which also features Danger Mouse and Norah Jones. Hooray for Third Man Records!

In anticipation of their latest album, Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2, Beastie Boys are laying out a limited edition 500-copy pressing of a 12" of their lead single, "Make Some Noise." Passion Pit's remix of the song will also be on there.

Bats for Lashes and Beck will also be re-releasing material limited to 500 copies. Their Twilight track "Let's Get Lost" will be on one side, and a Bats for Lashes demo, "Dark Time," will be on the other.

Radiohead will be releasing new material as well, but unfortunately it will only be in the U.K., so keep your eyes peeled and search engines ready to find downloads of two unreleased tracks, "The Butcher" and "Supercollider." In the meantime, download and read The Universal Sigh, which came out today, and grab your copies of King of Limbs.

Also, not on the list are exclusive 1,000 copy printings from Deerhunter, Fucked Up, Flying Lotus, and Yeasayer. There's still 18 days until Record Store Day officially commences, so expect the list of releases to expand from now!
