Sometimes I become half a masochist and read through setlist histories of bands I never saw...like Nirvana. Then I see how many times they played right under my nose, while I was alive and breathing in the same city, and I cry. Well, I don't cry, but I do let out a big sigh. Every once in awhile though, great audio gets out from those shows I should have attended, like this performance of "Scoff" from Portland's Pine St. Theatre circa 1990. It is part of the 20th anniversary remastered edition of Bleach that is coming out on Nov. 3. And to make matters better, this song can act as a preview of the entire Pine St. gig that is included with a Bleach Redux purchase. I'm going to get it, especially to hear Kurt when he sounded like a buzzsaw humming.
