Spin's July issue features Prince circa 1984 on its cover as part of a package dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Purple Rain, which features one of the best all-time selling soundtracks. To celebrate the guitar-slinging sex god the magazine is offering a tribute album for download featuring nine different bands, including Chairlift, Sharon Jones, and Of Montreal. You can download the whole thing at Spin.com/prince. You just need to type in the occupation of William Blinn to get it (just Google him). My favorite so far is El Mariachi Bronx's excellent take on "I Would Die 4 U." Check it out.
