Gotta admit, the first two days of my week sucked balls. My rabbit – a.k.a. my sweet faux-dog closest-thing-I-have-to-a-child Theodore – got sick on Monday and was not acting himself. Forced to syringe feed him, I was wrestling with a rabbit-turned-eel who refused to swallow the food that would help him. We both, on several occasions, ended up covered in green goop that reeked of hay and vitamin C, which I carried to work with me on my clothes and even in my hair.
But! As I arrived home this evening I noticed two things that made my day INFINITELY better. One: Theo had his head buried in his food bowl, only pausing to look up at me and beg for my pasta. Two: Iron and Wine's latest album, Kiss Each Other Clean popped up for free stream on an elegantly designed peacock record player, which I have embedded below so you can drown your ear drums. It's officially due January 25, but enjoy this 6-day precursor as I am– gleefully hopping around your living room, finally catching your breath after the stress wears down. "Monkeys Uptown" is particularly cathartic.
