In good music news, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová aka The Swell Season are returning to the fold on Oct. 27th with their album, Strict Joy. These two songbirds first gained fame for their triumphantly tender performances in the sleeper hit, Once. The critical buzz and strong word of mouth propelled them into the spotlight, culminating in an Oscar win for the song, Falling Slowly.
Live, they are incredibly moving, as well. Whether they are belting out one of their own songs or tackling a classic like Van Morrison's Into the Mystic, I assure you, you will leave emotionally rocked. That's why I'm giving a recommendation an acre wide encouraging you to catch them live. The dates are below and here a link to their new single, In These Arms (right click and save), which I'm sure you will definitely hear at the show.
And lastly, as a side note: if you haven't checked out Glen's work with the band, The Frames, go run to a record store and pick up a disc. You can thank me later.
