Washed Out

Washed Out has been popping up all over the blogs and for good reason. Ernest Greene's last chance summer synths perfectly encapsulate the warm weather mood most of us who live in more temperate climates hope to fall back into all year long and that's what makes this style, that some are calling chill wave, so welcome in the headphones. In this song, a remix by Toro Y Moi, you are pulled into a soft cushion of sound, where the synth notes slowly bubble along in a slightly danceable fashion, or at the very least, in a way that maintains a confident headnod. The words are repeated upon each other, never building, but rather finding a way to nestle into the room that is built around the track. And quickly you find that this subtle groove is the music of no problem days, and who doesn't need more of those? Let me know if you like it, too.

Washed Out's Life Of Leisure EP is out now, here.
