Xiu Xiu doesn't only tackle Rihanna's love-stricken track with an arsenal of discordant strings, ambient growling and ebbing bass, but also with nasally samples of The Tings Tings' only single, "That's Not My Name." It's obvious in the beginning, but there's also subtle references in the chorus if you pop your headphones in and really listen.
The cover of "Only Girl (In The World)" is paired with a new single, "Daphny," on a limited edition light blue 7" due September 6 and available now for pre-order. "Daphny" is more discordant and visceral, and rightfully so.
