You might not be able to understand what she's saying but the international language of dance synth pop speaks volumes on its own.
Now that the cliche is out of the way, I gotta say that my 10 years of French are abso-fucking-lutely failing me. I listened to Yelle's latest single "Safari Disco Club" twice and the only words I were picking up most of been subliminal and translated to both "Make your hips pop" and "Roll your ribcage."
Oh wait, I take it back, the chorus says "Les animaux danse dans le safari disco club" and she sings in the second verse "je veux gouter" which means "I want to taste." Aside from that, I recommend you ignore comprehending any spoken tongues and enjoy the tribal sound Yelle has incorporated into her sound for her upcoming album, Safari Disco Club. It comes out in the U.S. March 29 and it is highly unlikely we'll be getting leaks of it stateside, so enjoy the single above and snag for keeps below.
