You may have known him as Final Fantasy before the makers of the game sued the name right off his back, but now he's just good old Owen Pallett. Side note: Does that surprise anyone? When I first saw that someone had named themselves after an extremely popular video game series, I immediately looked at that choice as a ticking time bomb. Anyway, Mr. Pallett is releasing his first, non-FF album, called Heartland on Domino Records. I haven't heard it, but I'm seeing complimentary reviews from places like Stereogum and Drowned in Sound.
