The video for "Under Cover of Darkness" only seems to add weight to the disjointed relationship The Strokes have with each other. Julian operates separately from the rest of the band as it is directed by an anonymous conductor, and they don't seem all that keen on hanging with him either.
Of course, all of this is implied with the cinematographic positioning of the members. They might love each other!
