Fifty-word review

The Suburbs

Buy It

The Suburbs is about a society surrendering its underpinnings. The familiar Arcade Fire elements are all here, but each is freshly unsettled and unsettling. A new wave confidence lurks. Kick drum grandeur, wow-and-flutter strings, and a punky grit speed the plow, as these anthems tilt ominously in the dying light.
