Explode Into Colors was making some noise when I entered the tent outside Club Deville. The band is a perky, but ultimately grating all-female trio from Portland, Oregon. Described at "hypnotic freak funk," the musical value was lost on me. The set was drum-heavy, with throbbing electronic beats. During this, lead vocalist Klaudia Meza bounced around the stage, belting out incomprehensible lyrics.
The majority of the crowd, for their part, were very into the performance. But it just didn't do it for me.
