It's the Strokes! It's The Jonas Brothers! It's one Jonas Brother singing with some Strokes-ish guys? Who knows! It's Oberhofer. This is a band of very young and style-conscious guys, fronted by Brad Oberhofer (get it?) from Tacoma, WA via New York. A few things from this show stand out in my mind with more or less equal weight: several pairs of very rolled-up jeans, funny socks, lots of cymbal crashes and playful xylophone lines, and one very solid Canadian Tuxedo.
On the whole, this band is pretty impressive as the brainchild of a 19-year old classically trained NYU student. The whole thing smacks of all the enthusiasm, rebellion, and swagger of youth...and just a tad of its naïveté.
