Black Mountain is hipster prog—droning keyboards, monotone slacker vocals, and a post-apocalyptic vibe. The two best songs—“Breathe” and “Modern Music”—are the shortest and catchiest. The band likes them least; the latter’s chorus calls it, sarcastically, “another pop explosion, another hit recording.” Wish there were more of those here.
